Family Based Immigration
The United States has a history of immigration as our ancestors left their home countries and came here to build a better life. You may be one of these immigrants and are now living here as a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident, or perhaps you were born here and have relatives living abroad. Either way, you may have the opportunity to help your loved ones come to this country to live, work, and join you in your life here.
Legally immigrating to the United States can be a considerable challenge as the worldwide demand for immigration visas is far very high. The fact that you are a citizen or have a green card gives your family a significant advantage because this relationship can be used to sponsor him or her to live here. Depending on your relationship and status, there may be a number of ways to help your family join you in the U.S. There is even a visa for a fiancé / fiancée who is planning travel to the U.S. for the purpose of marrying and getting a green card.
We have years of experience working with individuals of all backgrounds to help their family immigrate or visit the United States. We would gladly take the time to speak with you about this possibility so please do not hesitate to schedule a consultation.
Being placed in Removal Proceedings and being deported from this country can have disastrous consequences for you and your loved ones. If the government has filed deportation papers against you, you probably feel worried and confused. You do not know what to do or what will happen to you.
Our immigration lawyers have successfully helped people stay in the U.S. despite being forced into deportation proceedings. Depending on the reason you have been placed in proceedings, there are often forms of relief available to you. This relief comes in many different varieties and you usually only get one chance to use them. Our immigration attorneys have the experience you need to help you identify and apply the relief that may be available to you to help you avoid the consequences of deportation. We represent individuals throughout Washington State and beyond. We would be happy to consult with you about your case and the solutions that are available to you. Please do not hesitate to schedule an appointment to speak with one of our seasoned deportation
Immigrant Visas (processed at the Consulate, they lead to Permanent Residency aka Green Card)
Non-Immigrant Visas (processed at the Consulate, they are for a temporary stay in the U.S. such as a visitor visa for business or pleasure)
Family-Based Immigration (usually consular processing (Consular Processing can also be a subject) for Immigrant Visas, but can also be Adjusting Status to Permanent Resident once already in the U.S.)
Business-Based Immigration (usually involves consular processing and processing in the U.S., also usually involves Non-Immigrant, or temporary visas. Some can lead to the opportunity to Adjust Status and become a Legal Permanent Resident)
Relief from Removal or Deportation (involves representing aliens in Immigration Court (aka EOIR) who have been placed in proceedings for any number of reasons such as having committed a deportable offense, not having their paperwork filed properly, being accused of marriage fraud, entering the country illegally, being found to be inadmissible at the time of entry, etc.)
Refugee and Asylum (Refugee is when you are outside of the U.S. and trying to get in based on persecution you face in your home country; Asylum is when you are already here and can’t return to your home country for fear of persecution. TPS, or Temporary Protected Status, may be a sub-category. From time to time the U.S. designates individuals from a particular country as eligible for TPS because of something terrible, but temporary happening in their home country such as the earthquake in Haiti or the civil war in Libya)
Appeals/Denials (can be a topic, overlaps with all of the above topics. Not all decisions are appealable and not all denials can be reversed)
